 5th Annual Welding Competition Information

DATE: Saturday - February 3rd, 2024

TIME: Sign-In/ Registration starts at 6:30-8:00am (competition will start shortly after 8am)

LOCATION: American Welding Academy: 3 Progress Parkway. Union, Missouri 63084


  • A completed Registration Form, Safety Waiver & $25 (non-refundable) deposit is required to hold your spot for this event. (Registration Deadline: January 19th, 2024)

  • If you are under the age of 18 a parent/guardian signature is REQUIRED on the registration form & safety waiver. 

  • If you register the day of the competition, you will likely not receive a t-shirt. 


    • Proper PPE Attire (Safety Glasses, Ear Protection, Welding Hood, Welding Cap, Welding Gloves, Welding Jacket, Boots, Jeans, 100% cotton long sleeve shirt.)​

    • Proper Tools ( Chipping Hammer, Wire Brush, Soapstone, File, Tape Measure, Combination Square, Half Round File, Vise Grips or Pliers)

I, (print name) _____________________________________, understand that I am permitted to use my self-owned welding equipment during the American Welding Academy Welding Competition, and consequently, American Welding Academy is not responsible for any damages which may occur to my equipment or my personal injury arising from such use. I also understand that I am responsible for any and all injuries to other people or damage to American Welding Academy property caused by my use of my self-owned welding equipment. I also will not allow my equipment to be used by others, and I will only use it during the competition under the supervision of my assigned proctor. I hereby release American Welding Academy from any and all liability arising from my use of my self-owned welding equipment. If I am injured or involved in an accident during the American Welding Academy Welding Competition, I understand that I assume full responsibility for my actions and the subsequent results. I understand that I have the option to request medical attention, which will be at my own expense. I fully understand that American Welding Academy is in no way responsible for such injury or accident, and I hereby release them from any and all liability arising from my activity at American Welding Academy.

I hereby irrevocably consent to and authorize the use and reproduction by American Welding Academy, or anyone authorized by the school, of any and all motion or still photographs which have been taken of me at this event, negative or positive, for any purpose whatever. All negatives and positives, together with the prints shall constitute the property of American Welding Academy, solely and completely. In addition, I hereby give American Welding Academy the same consideration for any correspondence to you, from myself, for use in school publications (i.e. school catalog, newsletter, brochures, etc.).
